Dashboard
The dashboard is the first page you see when you log in to ZEM, and provides an accessible overview of the current status of the network. When you first log into a newly created site, the dashboard will suggest a number of useful actions to get you started. The rest of this page will explain the different sections of the dashboard once one or more initial objects have been created. It displays detailed graphs of the network's performance and online status, and notification(s) of recent events and graphs detailing the networks topology.
Site
This overview shows the groups, devices and new inspection alerts in the network. Click on the respective section to go to their pages.
Synchronization status
A synchronization status (based on when the most recent successful import occurred)
is shown at the top of the dashboard, as Synchronized: x minutes ago
, indicating the last time the network data was
successfully scanned and its actual state imported.
Recent items
The recent items section shows the devices, switches and groups that were most recently updated or added.
Provisioning
If a device provisioning target is set, a provisioning section will show a progress bar indicating the amount of devices that have been added, out of the total amount of devices that need to be provisioned.
On-site appliances
Role
The manage_appliances
role is required to use this feature.
If there are any On-Site appliances in the network, the connection status of the appliances will be shown here.
Network graphs
Role
The view_network_graphs
role is required to use this feature.
Network graphs are shown here that show the layout and topology of the designed network. These graphs are generally created by our software engineers and can sparingly be edited by users with the correct privileges.
Metrics
The metrics section contains detailed graphics regarding the network's ports usage and online status of various devices.
Trend log
To enable trend log view, click the switch on the top right of the metrics page.
The trend log feature allows the user to view the network's data over a certain period of time. The user can select a time range and the graph will show the network's performance over that period. This data extends to ports, groups but also defined device categories.
Device categories
The device categories section shows an overview of the online status of the ports in the Device Categories that have been created in the network. These categories can be created when adding or editing a device profile or inline in the metrics section by clicking on the name of the category.
Switches
The switches section shows an overview of the defined groups in the network topology and the assigned ports and online status of the switches assigned to them. This section also features as a overview of the combined and single PoE usage of the switches and their possible over-usage of a PoE budget.
