Quick Search
The Quick Search feature lets you search devices, groups, switches and "import rows" with a single search query. It's the fastest way to navigate to a specific device, group or switch if you know (part of) an identifying attribute such as its name, port, IP address or MAC address (available fields vary per type).
You will find the 'Quick Search' icon in the toolbox, on the right-hand side of the screen, or in the top-right
if the toolbox is already open. Click this icon to reveal the Quick Search interface. If you're using ZEM on a
device with a keyboard, you may also use the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl
+ Shift
+ E
on Windows/Linux,
⌘
+ Shift
+ E
on macOS) to bring up the Quick Search interface and focus the search field.
Start typing to find devices, groups, switches or import rows that match your search query. When a result row
shows an "enter" / "return" icon (↵
), you can press the "enter" key to navigate directly to that item.
Import
The Quick Search feature also searches "import rows". Each such row corresponds to a physical port in the network. This means that you can search for specific ports, MAC addresses, IP addresses, VLANs, etc. to reveal import rows matching the search query, if any. Clicking an import row will populate the Quick Analysis interface to reveal detailed information about the selected port.
